GelNest™ is a basement membrane product identical in composition and performance to Corning® Matrigel® Matrix. GelNest™ Matrix extracted from Engelbreth-Holm-Swarm (EHS) mouse sarcomas using genetically identical mouse lines and SOP's. EHS tumors contain plentiful ECM proteins such as laminin (60% ), collagen IV (30%), heparan sulfate proteoglycans, nidogen (8%), and several growth factors. 

Part number 211262 is a high protein concentration version of GelNest™ Matrix without phenol red indicator included. While normal GelNest™ Matrix has a protein concentration of >8mg/mL, high protein concentration GelNest™ Matrix features a concentration >18mg/mL. This formulation is also free of phenol red which can cause unwanted estrogenic effects in some cell lines. Being phenol red free also makes this formulation suitable for colorimetric assays.
