Rainin LTS tips are a special tip made by Mettler-Toledo, the parent company that owns Rainin and now Biotix. LTS tips are different from the standard universal pipette tip in that they have a special shape that keeps them from getting wedged on the pipette too far. 

Universal tips have a tapered conical shape. While LTS tips and pipettes have a blunt cylindrical shape. The blunt edge of the cylinder keeps the tips from getting wedged on too far which makes them easier to eject. Nest tips have that same blunt edge, so they offer the same ergonomic benefits when it comes to mounting and ejecting tips.
