LTS Tips

Nest Scientific LTS tips are specifically designed to work with Rainin LTS pipettes. LTS pipettes are a special, proprietary product made by Mettler-Toledo which now owns Rainin. LTS tips generally offer better ergonomic performance as they are designed in a way that limits mounting and ejecting forces, which greatly reduces the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) in the workplace. This is achieved by creating a hard stop inside the pipette tip that keeps the shaft from going too deep into the tip. Regular universal tips and pipette shafts are conical in shape which allows the user to "wedge" on the tip with excessive force, which also requires extra force to eject. All that extra work done forcing tips on and off is hard on the wrists and thumbs. To solve this Rainin LTS tips and pipette shafts are cylindrical in shape with a blunt edge that keeps the shaft from going too deep into the tip. In practical terms this means less force to mount the tip and less force to eject it. A simple solution to a painful problem.
