SBS Racked 3D (2D+1D) Barcoded Cryogenic Vials

Nest Scientific SBS format cryogenic vials adhere to the standards set by the Society for Biomolecular Screening (SBS) for microplate footprint. Or more specifically the racks the vials come in match the familiar 8X12, 96 well grid microplates, PCR plates and pipette tips come in. This means the racks and vials can be used with automated systems, e.g. robotic liquid handlers support high throughput work. The caps are also designed to be used with Azenta capper/de-capper machines. 

This line of vials also features indelible, laser etched barcode labels for easy sample identification and tracking by automated systems. Each tube has a 2D Datamatrix code laser etched on the bottom and a 1D barcode etched on the side. Nest calls a 2-D plus a 1-D code a 3-D label. They are also considered 3-D in that they are physically etched into the vials, not just printed on. This makes them impossible to remove by solvents or simple mechanical friction.
